Peer Attachment and Emotion Regulation in Adolescents

Low peer attachment to adolescents in Indonesia can have an impact on emotional behavior such as low emotional regulation. This study aims to determine the relationship between peer attachment and emotion regulation in adolescents . Amount participants on study this as much 152 adolescent girls and boys aged 13-18 years. This research uses the method quantitative. The scales used in this study were the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (ERQ-CA) and the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment -Revisited (IPPA-R) . The results of the study explain that there are connection positive which significant Among peer attachment and regulation of adolescent emotions with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.278 and p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the level of peer attachment, the higher the ability to regulate emotions, the opposite applies. Based on those results could concluded that the hypothesis in this research accepted. Data analysis of aspect intercorrelation, demographic difference test (gender, education level, extracurricular activities), correlation test based on demographics (gender, education level, extracurricular activities) will be discussed further
